Welcome to the website of the
Pocono Mountain Panther Music Boosters (PMPMB)
The PMPMB is a non-profit volunteer association whose purpose is to support and promote
the activities of the music departments of the
Pocono Mountain West junior and senior high
schools. We do this by linking the students, families, faculty and community at large, in support
of the belief that the arts compliment the development of the well-rounded student.

The Pocono Mountain West Marching Band competed in two championships on Sunday, November 2nd.

The day began with the US Scholastic Band Association's (USSBA) Northern States Championship at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown. The West
Band managed to take 2nd place out of the 13 bands from PA, VA, MA, NY, NJ, MD in the Group II Open Division, with a season high score of 95.925.

Then they moved from Allentown to Exeter, to the Tournament of Bands (TOB) Chapter 7 Championships, hosted by Wyoming Area High School. There,
they won 1st place with a score of 93.25, and the title of Chapter 7 Champions for the 16th consecutive year. Drum Major Joe Jefferson scored a season
high 19.1 out of a possible 20 points for his outstanding performance leading the band to another championship. The Band is under the direction of
Jonathan Searfoss, with assistance from Kevin Dikeman, Matt Hughes and Lisa Kojeszewski.

Up next is the final competition of the season, the TOB sponsored Atlantic Coast Championships, which include bands from 11 states that qualified by
winning their own Chapter Championships in the 13 Chapters of TOB, or by having one of the next twelve highest scores over the weekend.
The Pocono Mountain West Marching Band was a Gold Medal Finalist at the
Tournament of Bands  Atlantic Coast Championships on 11/15/08. The band competed
against 25 bands from 11 states in Group II competition. They finished in 7th place
with a score of 94.30.  Congratulations!!
